Lighthouse is embarking on an important new chapter as we begin the process of developing a comprehensive strategic plan to guide our work over the next five years. Within this process, we are seeking a strategic planning partner to help shape our future – interested consultants can learn more during our RFP in a virtual information session on August 27th. Click here to join at 2 pm.
As Lighthouse continues to grow and evolve, we know that thoughtful planning is essential to ensuring our resources, programs, partnerships, and organizational capacity are aligned with the needs of the communities we serve. This process will help us build a clear, focused, and actionable roadmap for the future while strengthening our ability to build equitable communities that alleviate poverty.
A Community-Informed Vision for the Future
Our strategic planning process will be grounded in the perspectives and experiences of the people who know Lighthouse best. A strategic planning partner will work alongside our Board of Directors, executive leadership, staff, clients, funders, and community partners to understand where we are today, identify opportunities for the future, and establish shared priorities.
As part of the strategic planning process, Lighthouse and our selected planning partner will explore several key areas, including, but not limited to, the following components:
- Organizational Vision and Strategic Direction
- Program, Service, and Business Line Assessment
- Organizational Capacity and Resource Alignment
- Stakeholder Engagement and Partnership Strategy
- Organizational Communications and Supporting Resources
- Performance Measurement and Implementation Planning
Turning Vision Into Action
This process is about more than creating a document. We want our next Strategic Plan to serve as a practical roadmap that helps Lighthouse make informed decisions and turn priorities into action.
The final plan will establish strategic goals and objectives, key performance indicators, organizational performance measures, and an implementation framework with clear accountability. It will also help align staffing, financial resources, facilities, and organizational capacity with our strategic priorities.
Ultimately, we envision a Strategic Plan that positions Lighthouse to respond to emerging community needs, strengthens our partnerships and community engagement, and supports long-term organizational sustainability and impact.
Seeking the Right Strategic Planning Partner
To support this work, Lighthouse is seeking proposals from qualified consulting firms with experience in nonprofit strategic planning, organizational development, governance, change management, community engagement, and performance measurement. The selected consultant will serve as an objective facilitator and strategic advisor throughout the process.
We are looking for a partner who can help us ask the right questions, engage our community meaningfully, challenge our thinking, and translate what we learn into a focused and achievable plan for the future.
