Campaign Summary
As we look to the future, we know that it will take a more comprehensive approach to address the poverty and economic disparities impacting so many in our community. Our goal is not to provide a Band-Aid. We’re collaborating with community leaders, partner agencies and government officials to create a sustainable and lasting solution to poverty in our community. Together, we’re working toward a future where we can be proactive – focused on preventing the traumas of homelessness and hunger – in addition to responding to them.
To realize our bold vision, we’re launching a $25 million campaign to raise the funds needed to implement lasting solutions. With your gift today, you can:
- Address the urgent and unmet need for shelter and stabilization services by increasing emergency shelter capacity through our Housing Opportunity Center where we’ll provide interim housing and supportive services to quickly move families from homelessness into a place to call home. Moreover, in 2023 we will begin operating three Runaway Homeless Youth programs, including Sanctuary, A Step Forward, and the Graduated Apartment Program, providing interim housing solutions for unaccompanied youth ages 10-25.
- Help eliminate food insecurity by scaling our food distribution program and investing in a new Social Supermarket which will enable individuals and families to access a client-choice food pantry and other support services all in one place.
- Increase the availability of supportive services that help prevent crises and empower individuals and families to achieve stability through the creation of an Economic Opportunity Center.
- Create affordable housing options and remove barriers to home ownership that currently keep people locked in a cycle of poverty, and disproportionately impact people of color.
With your help, we can respond to urgent needs while also working to create a permanent pathway out of poverty for people in our community. There is a solution to poverty in Oakland County. Your support today will help make it possible.
