Planned Giving

Judith Ann Samuel

Judith Samuel was the youngest of four children and her mother spent a lot of time volunteering; helping to instill these values of giving back in her. She was an esteemed high school special education teacher for many years and, upon retiring, she decided to start volunteering at Lighthouse with a friend to help support their community. During the years Judith spent volunteering, she felt a strong connection to her fellow volunteers and the work Lighthouse was doing. Because she didn’t have children of her own, she was able to dedicate so much to giving back to causes that she cared deeply about. Judith’s family shared that she thought Lighthouse was a great organization that was helping so many people.

When Judith passed away in 2022, her entire estate was donated to the charities that she cared about the most – including Lighthouse. Her incredible support through planned giving will allow her legacy to live on through Lighthouse. Judith’s gift is now going to ensure we can provide life-changing support and hope to even more local families and individuals in need.

We at Lighthouse are so thankful to have incredible supporters like Judith, who’s legacy of giving lives on.

Naming Lighthouse as a beneficiary, as a percentage or a specific amount from your estate, is easy. If you wish to explore planned giving possibilities to support our organization, please contact Michelle Olmsted at molmsted@lighthousemi.org or 248-920-6000 x2208.
